Dr. Ian T.W. Flynn is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology and Environmental Science. His research primarily utilizes satellite remote sensing and modeling to investigate volcanic processes on Earth and other planetary bodies (e.g., Mars, Venus, and icy moons). He is a member of the Pitt Space Initiative, the Image Visualization and Infrared Spectroscopy (IVIS) Lab, and the Venus Exploration and Analysis Group (VEXAG). Outside of research he enjoys fitness and reading with his two cats (Thor and Hella).
